Ski Skin

3 ways to help your skin while skiing!

When you love a ski holiday, but the ski holiday doesn’t love your skin..

Here are our top 3 tips to keep your skin hydrated and protected on those cold but sunny mountains.

1.Sun Protection

This will not only prevent your skin from burning, it will also give added protection from the effect the cold has on our skin. Using an SPF high in Zinc and Titanium Oxide will give you full UVA and UVB protection, you’ll also want one that is water resistant (sweat-proof), and if you’re looking for coverage, try a tinted SPF.

How much should I use?

3 finger length lines will be enough to cover your face, neck and any other areas that may be exposed such as the hands.

Do I need to reapply my SPF?

Yes! SPF must be reapplied every 2 hours at least. ‘Brush on Block’ is a great product to do this as its a clear powder, so no sticky creams, and it’s waterproof. This is especially good for children as it can be applied very easily, without any stingy eyes!

Our favourite SPF’s:

iS Clinical Eclipse SPF50

Brush on Block

After a day on the slopes your skin will be in need of some serious hydration. We suggest using a slightly thicker moisturiser or balm in order to allow the skin to heal and rehydrate.

Our Top Pics:

iS CLinical Shield Balm

These products can be used in the AM and PM if needed. I would suggest staying away from any AHA or BHA as the skin will need more moisture. If you are using a hyaluronic acid and or vitamin c serum, you can continue with these but you will want a heavier moisturiser on top.

3.Use a cooling mask

A hydrating cooling mask is great for your post-ski session. It will help to repair and rehydrate your skin after being in the sun all day.

We suggest the iS Clinical Hydra-cool Mask as it cools the skin down well and has all the antioxidants your skin will be craving.

Top tip: use this mask on the plane to and from to really protect your skin!
