ONLINE Movement for Mental Health with Angela Conjaerts
Movement for Mental Health will be an all-levels workshop around the benefits of movement; in this case yoga, as a means to supporting your mental health.
This workshop will be part interactive chat about brain and body, and part mindful hatha practice where we will explore moving intuitively, prioritising breath and building our mind body connection via movement to establish ways to improve and maintain our mental health.
The science behind yoga and mental health speaks for itself, but in this workshop we will get to experience it together and deepen our understanding of the synergy between the two.
Feel free to bring pen and paper if you wish to take notes, get inspired to just need to express yourself. The practice itself will be gentle and have lots of changes for you to take liberties for what feels best in your body.
Angela started practicing yoga in Toronto around 2011, focusing more on using asanas as a way to compliment other physical exercise. Working in mental health, however, intrigued her, and so she began to delve into the other limbs.
Years later, after a move to the UK, various health issues and a deep desire to gain a more intuitive body, mind and breath connection, Angela found herself doing her Yoga Teacher Training. Training in Hatha and Vinyasa originally, Angela has since completed a qualification in the Neurobiology of Trauma and Trauma Informed Practices as well as Mandala.
