WHAT EXACTLY IS QIGONG?
Literally translated, Qigong means ‘Energy work’. The class will be non weight bearing and use subtle movements that can be very profound to shift the energy around your body. This is done so that every part of our body can receive essential nutrients required to keep it working in the healthiest way possible. As a result, you are left feeling relaxed yet energised!
Qigong is somewhat similar to Yoga. It is often called the ‘Chinese Yoga’ – like yoga, we use breath, movement and meditation to move energy and invoke a more meditative state. We’ll start with some breath work and then move into a meditation to prepare us for some mindful Qigong movements in a delicious flow. We will finish with some deeply therapeutic relaxation.
In Qigong we work to build up the flow of energy in our body and in this class we will do this through breath, movement and meditation.
This workshop is suitable for everybody – those completely new to qigong are most welcome, along with those who’ve practised lots already.
