Teach Yoga for Sport – a 2 day course
This is a 2-Day Course running over 2 Sundays
Day One – Sunday 15th January 2023
Day Two – Sunday 22nd January 2023
This practical British Wheel of Yoga course is designed for teachers (trainee and qualified) keen to adapt their yoga knowledge to appeal to athletes.
Running over two Sundays – 15th and 22nd January – we will practice assessing athletes and package sport-specific sessions for runners, cyclists and take a look at tennis players, golfers and footballers.
Expect lots of movement exploration, mini teaching sessions and plenty of lesson planning in this fun, hands-on module. The aim is to finish with an armful of lesson plans ready to hit the ground running.
This module is also open to health professionals such as personal trainers or physiotherapists who have a good knowledge of yoga poses and a regular practice.
The module host Lexie Williamson has been teaching sport-specific yoga for over 15 years and is the author of the Bloomsbury books Yoga for Runners, Yoga for Cyclists, The Stretching Bible and Move, and the co-author of the Audible guide Power Down to Power Up with sports psychologist Dr Josephine Perry. Lexie is also an anatomy and physiology tutor for the BWY teaching diploma course and has hosted a BWY Teachers Forum on the Science of Stretching.
