What is Reiki?
Reiki (pronounced ray-key) comes from the Japanese words “rei,” meaning universal, and “ki,” meaning life energy. It is a Japanese form of alternative medicine related to energy healing that originated in Japan around 1920.
Reiki practitioners use a technique of hands-on healing on the body, along the chakra energy points through which the “universal energy” that is transferred from the palms of practitioner’s hands to the patient, to encourage emotional and physical healing. Reiki is chanelled through the practitioner as the recipient’s body draws the energy to the parts of their body that require it. Reiki is an intelligent energy. It goes where it is needed to do the greatest good.
