Rolfing is a method aimed at improving posture by systematically working with the myofascial system through a structured series of sessions known as the Rolfing Series. Clients who have completed the Series often report a range of benefits, including reduced musculoskeletal pain—especially in the neck, jaw, shoulders, and back—relief from repetitive strain injuries (RSI), improvements in scoliosis, and increased mobility and range of motion. Other reported outcomes include the development of arches in flat feet, diminished or eliminated pain in the toes, feet, and ankles (often accompanied by joy at increased ease of movement), and being able to stop using foot orthotics. Clients also frequently report fuller, more natural breathing, relief from constipation and stomach discomfort, lower stress levels, and improved ability to cope with stress—see testimonials.
Following the Rolfing Series, many people note that everyday movements and physical tasks become easier, such as turning the body to reverse a car, sitting comfortably at a desk without strain, or walking and running with more ease. Participants often say they feel taller, stronger, more flexible, and more in tune with their bodies, naturally avoiding movements that used to cause discomfort. Some also report feeling more resilient in the face of stress.
