Chronic Pain

How Pranic Healing can help alleviate Chronic Pain

If you have chronic pain, you’re not alone- as much as 44% of adults in the UK, that’s 28 million people, live with chronic pain, and even with painkillers, 68% of people with chronic pain report times when their symptoms are not adequately controlled. So it’s no surprise that there is growing interest in complementary therapies, notably Pranic Healing, a non-touch energy modality. Recent studies at King’s Hospital in London found that 65% of patients receiving eight weekly Pranic Healing treatments alongside their medical treatment reported complete relief from pain, rising to 84% at the 20-week follow-up.

What are the Types and Causes of Chronic Pain

Chronic pain can arise from many different sources. For most people, several causes overlap – which is why the experience can feel confusing, unpredictable, and exhausting.

Some people develop long-term pain after an injury or surgery, when the nervous system continues to send pain signals even after the tissues themselves have healed.

Others experience musculoskeletal strain from posture, long hours sitting or standing at a desk, or repetitive movement that keeps muscles and joints under constant tension.

The others again, are experiencing pain as a result of stress or unexpressed emotions – something that’s increasingly being acknowledged by research.

When someone is under chronic stress or emotional overload, the body is in a state of fight-or-flight: Muscles tighten, inflammation increases, and the nervous system becomes more reactive – all of which make pain worse.

Other common contributors to chronic pain include nerve dysfunction like sciatica, inflammatory conditions like arthritis, visceral issues like IBS, and complex pain patterns seen in conditions like fibromyalgia.

For many people, the physical and emotional layers are deeply intertwined, and long-term recovery may involve addressing both.

What is the Energetic Perspective on Pain

From an energy perspective, pain is the result of depletion or congestion of energy in a specific area of the body. These energy imbalances can occur after an injury or operation, which explains why some people experience pain even a long time after the actual physical injury has completely healed.

What’s more, the pain can occur in a different area of the body than the original injury, with no apparent link between the two. A colleague of mie once treated somebody who had been living with pain in her tummy area for a long time. When he scanned the energy body at the beginning of the treatment, he noticed that the energy centres responsible for the organs in the tummy area were functioning fine, but that there was an imbalance in the lower back.

Energy imbalances can also arise from negative thoughts and emotions. These tend to congest certain energy centres and ultimately result in physical pain such as lower back pain, IBS or even migraines.

How Pranic Healing works

Pranic Healing works by removing dirty and congested energy from the body and then energising it with fresh, clean life force energy, also called prana.

There is a specific evidence-based step- by- step protocol for each condition, specifying which energy centres to cleanse and re-energise, for how long, and the energy frequencies to use. The Pranic Healing practitioner will scan your energy body before, during and after the treatment, to ensure that the body has been sufficiently cleansed and re-energised.

Here’s what distinguishes Pranic Healing from other energy modalities.

Firstly, Pranic Healing puts a big emphasis on cleansing congested energy from the body whilst other energy modalities tend to solely energise the body.

Secondly, Pranic Healing is both technique and protocol based, whilst other energy modalities may rely on the practitioner’s intuition.

Thirdly, Pranic Healing is always non-touch, and the practitioner will use a sprayer filled with medical alcohol for their hands to avoid contamination and use a disposal bin filled with water and salt to disintegrate the dirty energy that they remove from the client’s body, keeping themselves and the environment energetically clean.

This enables Pranic Healing to deliver rapid and reliable results.

What happens during a Pranic Healing session

Pranic Healing sessions can take place either face-to-face or distantly, often online via Zoom. The Pranic Healing Practitioner will usually start by  taking your medical history and ask you about your symptoms.

They will then ask you to relax, invite you to close your eyes if you wish, and they will ask you to keep your arms and legs uncrossed so that the energy can flow freely.

They will then go on to scan your energy body using their hands to sense where the energy centres are out of balance, i.e. either depleted or congested.

After that, they progress to the protocol. Using either their hands or a laser crystal, they will cleanse congested energy from your body using a very specific hand technique, dispose of the energy in a specific bin, and then spray their hands or the crystal regularly to avoid contamination.

Clients usually tend to comment how relaxing they find the smell of the spray as most Pranic Healing Practitioners add lavender to the spray which has a relaxing effect on most people.

A treatment usually lasts for about 45 minutes or so, depending on how much energy needs to be removed.

Most clients notice at least a partial relief of their pain after the first session, but in most cases, a series on treatments is required.

As the energy body usually tends to take some time to absorb the new energy that’s projected during the treatment, it’s advisable not to shower for 12 to 24 hours after the treatment.

Many clients actually notice that they start feeling better and better during the day after the treatment. I have even received emails saying that they woke up feeling “euphoric”. This positive effect on their emotions can be explained by the fact that the energy continues working even after the treatment is complete, often for several days after the treatment as the body synthesises the energy.

A Case Study on How Pranic Healing helped a boy with “Gut Brain” return to school

I once treated a young boy who had missed several months of school after having a tummy bug. He was in pain even after the virus had cleared from the body, and he was unwilling to leave the house.

Since he was home bound, I went to see him at his home. Initially, he was very timid, but as soon as I started the treatment with a general sweep of his energy field (aura), he said that the tummy pain was gone.

I continued with the full treatment protocol for trauma and IBS, and he gradually became more and more chatty, telling me about his favourite toys and movies, and at the end of the session, he was like a different person, lively, bouncy, and his mother couldn’t believe the change.

He received regular Pranic Healing treatment alongside medication and talking therapy, and after a few months, he returned to school.

A case study on how Pranic Healing helped alleviate debilitating migraines

I once treated an entrepreneur who was experiencing such extreme fatigue that she was unable to work often for many days in a row, which impacted her ability to generate revenue in her business.

When I scanned her energy body at the beginning of the treatment, I noticed a few energy balances and asked her whether she was experiencing back aches or head aches. As Pranic Healers, we are not qualified to diagnose, but our scanning can sometimes give us clues to ask more questions to get a more complete picture. Especially in complex cases where the person is experiencing several layers of physical and psychological issues, we often agree with the client on treating the most severe issue first.

So when I asked this client more questions, she also mentioned that she had also been  experiencing migraines for many years, as well as having several challenges in her life that were affecting her emotionally.

So we agreed to do Pranic Psychotherapy Treatments to alleviate negative emotions, and then Pranic Healing treatments specifically for migraines caused by emotional congestion.

The result was that she felt some relief during the sessions, and it improved even more after the sessions. The time period between migraines sessions then lengthened, the intensity of the pain during the migraines became less strong, and the migraine episodes became shorter.

After several treatments, she decided to train as a Pranic Healing Practitioner herself.
