RELATIONAL THERAPIST - COUNSELLING and BODYWORK THERAPIES
COUNSELLING SESSIONS
I am a Relational Therapist, working with you to raise awareness of the ‘why’ behind the challenges you face, in order to gain release from suffering. As an experienced therapist, informed by professional and lived experience, I am able to hold the space for deep and sometimes difficult exploration, in which I am active with unimposing intervention and challenge, to support re-connection to your authentic self.
A private practice professional in the therapeutic space since the mid-1990s, I’ve lived and practised in Australia, Asia, Africa, Europe and the UK. As a result I have extensive experience working cross-culturally, with great sensitivity. This includes working with immigrants, ex-pats, refugee trauma survivors, and significant ongoing experience with a large client base in the Arab States.
Counselling training in the Psychodynamic and Clarkson 5-Strand Relationship Models, along with practice in bodywork, talking therapies and behaviour change experience inform my Integrative Counselling approach, where relationships and how we relate to ourselves (including our body) and others, is key to understanding how we experience life and its influence on our physical and mental wellbeing.
My private practice is further enriched by work in the corporate EAP (Employee Assistance Programme) industry on Clinical Assessments and responding to clients at immediate risk of suicide and self harm, along with ongoing work as a School Counsellor in a central London senior school.
Key tenets to my approach include:
- Our past enters the room with us - We arrive as the culmination of everything we have lived, giving us access to the past in the present.
- Whole-body awareness - It is body connection that keeps our mind in check and settles incessant thinking.
- ’In-between the sessions’ - Sustainable change requires that realisations reached in the therapeutic work are put into practice in everyday life.
- Personal Responsibility - Liberation from suffering lies in understanding that the triggers lie within us, releasing us from the blame, guilt and shame cycle.
- Relational Depth - Our first relationship is with ourselves, and the quality of this informs our relationship with others.

How I Work
At its foundation, therapy is a relationship, so it is important to discern the person you intend to work with. You can contact me for a connect video call (up to 30mins, no charge) to discuss what you are looking for and get a sense of each other. If agreeable, we would book an initial consultation session to establish the foundation of working together based on what your intentions are, and discuss length and frequency of your counselling programme. I work short term and long term, in-person and online, with clients in the UK and overseas. All counselling sessions are 50mins.
BODYWORK THERAPY SESSIONS
Modalities: Connective Tissue Therapy, Chakra-puncture and Healing
Foundational Purpose: Re-establish a relationship with Stillness and Settlement. Support your Full Expression in all areas of your life.
The greatest medicine is the Way we live. But all too often the way we live is an assault on the body. Understanding why we continue to live in opposition to the truth we know isn't always immediately apparent when we focus on the symptoms, instead of what is fuelling the behaviours in the first place.
We begin to get to the heart of the matter by acknowledging that there is far more to us than our physical body. There can be no resolution or true healing without the acknowledgement of the impact and influence of energy on the body, our state of mind and movement.
This simple example proves this: Close your eyes and think of a time when you were very angry, a time that may remain unresolved. After a short time, your heart may beat faster, in more extreme cases you may start to heat up, even sweat or be unable to keep your eyes closed. Open your eyes. There is no-one physically touching you, perhaps no-one paying attention to you, or even in the room, yet your physiology has reacted to something unseen, a quality of energy that has entered your body, triggered your nervous system, an energy that is disharmonious to our natural state of being.
Healing in Truth is discarding what does not belong in the body, making space for that which does, our ever-present innermost essence.
Clients come to see me from around the world, from all walks of life, some exhibiting visible/tangible signs of illness and others discomforted by conditions not visible to the eye nor ultrasound. Some come with long-term fatigue, physical pain, digestive, sleep, lymphatic or nervous system disharmonies, others with emotional pain and mental health concerns, like grief, anxiety, panic and depression, addictions and self harming behaviours. And others come with struggles with great change, or feeling stuck in life.
I work complementary to conventional medicine, holding medicine's capacity to address 'seen' or physically manifesting illness and disease with the greatest of respect. Hence, I include among my diverse client base, bankers, nurses, surgeons, doctors, dentists, scientists, clinical psychologists and psychotherapists. And I work in unison with you, being resident in your body 24/7, it is you who knows it best.
