Since my studies of Western Herbal Medicine at University of Westminster, London., I have been able to integrate my great love and respect for traditional and natural medicines, plants and therapeutics, with my great interest in the functions of the human body.
As well as botany and phytomedicine, I have always been particularly interested in cultures and traditions within systems of medicine. Often, of how we have incorporated nature with other ways of living., a wide range of beliefs and concepts, as well as energetic principles as any kind of natural precursor for healing disease, as preventative medicine., and for our continued and collective research on the effects on the human body.
This shapes my approach as a Medical Herbalist., considering the overall health constitution of the person, rather than only symptomatically. Prescriptions are based on medicines made from high quality plant materials, many sourced myself from the local area, and always conscious of sustainability.
Methods of diagnosis are based on traditional western practice consultations, but may also include both Western and Traditional Chinese Medicine Tongue or Pulse diagnosis, and Iridology. These can help to identify energy and constitution patterns, or areas of health that may be weakened through factors such as genetics, lifestyle or disease. These may then provide a further support for work with herbs., in order to restore vitality, health and wellbeing.
