The ancient art of TAI CHI has evolved in China over a vast time period originating within the Internal systems of Chinese KungFu. The now well-known and extensively researched benefits of TAI CHI stem from the unique methods found within it’s practice.
Classically described as the Shen guides Yi that moves the Qi – Spirit guides Intention that moves the Qi or Life Force energy – TAI CHI’s inner mechanisms allow for magical effects on the Mind Body Spirit trinity that we are composed of.
In the initial stage of TAI CHI practice, Song – Relaxation or Loosening is worked on throughout the entire body. This is coupled with breathing methods (Lower DanTian breathing) and Qi – Energy cultivation with specific Energy generation postures. These are then combined to cultivate ChanSiGong or “Silk Reeling skill” – expanding and contracting rotational movements governed by thought guiding internal energy and internal energy moving the body.
This particular method of animating and moving the body from a Yi Qi – Intention Energy initiation driving the body motion makes the actual experiencing of TAI CHI very unique.
